Storage Overview

While using the Costco Photo Center you can enjoy unlimited and free storage for your online photos and photo gift creations. We do not limit the number of photos you can upload, nor the number of gifts you can create and share. You can have as many albums as you need to effectively organize your photos.

Because the photos you upload to the Costco Photo Center are copies of photos you have on your computer at home, we highly recommend keeping the originals somewhere safe. If something goes wrong with your photos, or if you delete them from your Costco Photo Center account by accident, then you will always have a backup.

Maintaining an Active Account

To keep your account active, as outlined in the Costco Photo Center Terms and Conditions, simply log in to your Costco Photo Center account and make a purchase. Purchasing even one print will keep your account active for another year.

Please note: If you choose not to maintain your account's active status, you will lose uploaded photos, any saved projects, including all information, communications, postings, albums, or any other content within your account on the Costco Photo Center. Should you wish to make a copy of the photos currently stored in your Costco Photo Center account, you can transfer them to a photo DVD.

Please note: Your membership with the Costco Photo Center is not the same as your Costco Membership. You will need to order photo gifts or prints from the Costco Photo Center at Costco.com to maintain an active account. Orders placed at a Costco 1 Hour photo lab in the warehouse do not qualify to maintain an active account.

About the Quality of Your Online Photos

When you use the Quick Upload tool you have two options for uploading your photos.

  • Fast Upload
  • Standard Upload

The Fast Upload method transfers your images up to 5 times faster than the Standard Upload method. Choose Fast Upload any time you have multiple images to upload that you intend to print at any size below 8x10. If you would like to print one of your photos larger, choose the Standard Upload method.

When you upload your digital photos, we save two copies of your photos. We use low-resolution versions of your images for the website. It is possible to produce a high quality image on a computer screen with a lower resolution image than print. We use the high-resolution version whenever you create one of our photo products such as photo DVDs, greeting cards, and prints.

Protecting your Account

We take the protection of your online information seriously. In order to make sure your account is as safe as possible, please protect it with a strong password. When you choose a password it is important that it is difficult for others to guess, but easy for you to remember. Strong passwords usually include numbers and letters and avoid actual words and strings of letters or numbers such as 'abc' or '0123'.

Follow the steps below if you would like to change your password now.

  1. Log in to your Costco Photo Center account.
  2. Click the 'account' link in the top right corner.
  3. Click the 'edit personal information' link.
  4. Enter your new password in the 'password' field provided.
  5. Enter your new password one more time in the 're-type password' field provided to verify the change.
  6. Click the 'update info' button to set your password.

Make sure you remember the password you have selected, because you will need to enter it when you log in to the photo center.

If at any time you forget your password, and are unable to log in to your account, click the 'forgot your password?' link in the 'log in to your account' section.
